Welcome to Penn State Brandywine 全球项目, delivering distance education courses with short-term travel to destinations worldwide since 1995. Each course in each program includes pre-travel and post-travel coursework to be completed on an independent study basis, working with the instructor through distance education technologies, on one's own schedule and at one's own pace. Travel components of the courses are 6-9 days in length, taking place during breaks in the University's academic calendar. We aim to bring international academic and immersion experiences within the financial reach of as many Penn State students as possible. Seoul, Korea - May 8-20, 2023
“From Classical Korea to Modern K-pop - The Sociological Exploration of a Changing Culture” is a faculty-led global program course (3 credits) designed to foster a greater understanding and appreciation for Korean life by paying particular attention to the ethos of modern K-entertainment. This program involves living in Seoul, Korea during the period of May 8 - May 20, 2023. All Penn State students from any campus or any discipline can participate in the program. The course will not only fulfill three credits for the Global and International Studies Minor, but it can also function as a complementary elective for any major, given that no similar course is offered in those programs at Penn State. The course can be extended for students who want to gain deeper appreciation of other cultures.

Oaxaca, 墨西哥 - May 11 - June 4, 2023
墨西哥的梅梅斯特 is a 4-credit program with one 2-credit course in the Spring semester and one 2-credit course during May/June in Oaxaca, 墨西哥. The program offers hands-on learning experience to build linguistic and cultural competencies. Classroom and community-based interactions will explore equity-minded and social justice dispositions and instill leadership skills.
Approximate program cost: $3,000 (includes all living expenses and airfare), plus 2 credits of summer tuition.
This program will have grant support from the 平等的机会 Planning Committee (EOPC) at Penn State which has the mission of promoting greater equity for historically underrepresented/underserved groups within the University and/or those groups that have been historical targets of discrimination. Students from underrepresented backgrounds including (but not limited to) students of color, ”+识别, dis /能力, and/or first-generation groups can apply for financial support to participate in this program. This scholarship can be applied to living costs and airfare.
